About Us

Blind Channel Resort launched a water taxi service in early 2008 as a way to diversify during the economic downturn of the time.  It was a service which mainly catered to the transportation needs of local forestry workers who needed access to remote camps operating in the area.  The service, which started out with just one 5 passenger vessel, has now grown to iclude a custom built 10 passenger landing craft, and a brand new 12 passenger water taxi.  The landing craft is ideal for loading and unloading at the beach or at launch ramps, and can handle most UTV's and ATV's.

New in 2015 will be a scheduled passenger and freight service from Blind Channel to Campbell River three times per week.  This will give resort guests a convenient and economical way to get in and out, or connect with friends and family.

For groups willing to drive a bit farther up Vancouver Island, Blind Channel Water Taxi provides an economical alternative for charter trips out of Rock Bay Campground and Marina.  The campground offers a secure place to leave a vehicle, and is located at the entrance to Johnstone Strait, close to the Thurlow Islands and Sonora Island.  From Rock Bay it's a 30 minute boat ride to Shoal Bay, Fredrick Arm, or Philips Arm, or an hour's boat ride to the head of Loughborough Inlet.

Please call 1 888 329 0475 to book a trip, or with any questions regarding rates and availablility.

This is a beautiful place and very comfy accommodations, with friendly staff. I am reading two books, "I Heard the Owl Call my Name" and "Spilsbury's Coast." It is unique to be reading stories of the coast history while living in it. A wonderful trip.
